And it really does when it comes to AH sniping, or so I recently found. After setting up my Auctioneer to scan the neutral AH on my server, it didn't take long after casting my line to hook a good one. Three Inferno Rubies for 1s? On it. Made a cool 400g profit off of that. Next up was a stack of Carnelian; sold for 350g. Alicite was next, though that doesn't sell for much. Still, at 1s for a full stack, any profit is good profit.
I find that sniping consists of long periods of doing nothing, punctuated by quick, frantic motions while you attempt to out-click your opponent. Sure, I could sit there with my cursor hovering over where the 'OK' button will pop up, but since it takes a little bit of time for the next snipe to happen, that gets boring quickly. I fill up the time with chatting with friends, surfing on the web, or listening to music.
DING!!!
Time to click! That noise always gives me a little rush of adrenaline (which I'm sure will disappear with time) as I rush to click the OK button. I know my Auctioneer won't pop up for anything that won't make me a decent profit, so half the fun is seeing what you bought after you've bought it.
It's like Christmas, except you're stealing other people's presents.
